Summer Saturdays is appearing once again in Plymouth, but this weekend, trucks of all shapes and sizes will line Michigan Road.
As part of Summer Saturdays, the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce wanted to reinvent the popular concept of the car show – ultimately deciding to put trucks on display.
Executive Director Connie Holzwart says there will be plenty of activities for those interested in attending.
“They can go and ask questions and look and talk to dealers if that’s what they want to do and also the trucks that have been restored,” says Holzwart. “But we’re also going to have the tailgate part, because it is the Truck and Tailgate Show.”
Food will be available at the event.
The Plymouth Chamber of Commerce has, in years past, hosted a new car show when First Fridays were part of weekend activities.
New trucks, classic trucks, and semi-tractors will line Michigan Road between Washington and LaPorte Streets on Saturday.
Holzwart says they’re still taking calls from those interested in displaying their vehicle.
“We’re assigning spaces so that we can kind of spread it out a little bit, and so we keep the bigger semis away from each other,” says Holzwart. “So if other people want to bring them that’s fine.”
The street will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m. with trucks expected to be in their space and set-up by 9:30 a.m.
The general public can attend beginning at 10:00 a.m.
