
Potato Creek State Park is offering a chance to view life as it was in the past. Time travel to the early to mid 19th century with Tater Traditions. Tomorrow’s festivities will include a 10 a.m. tour of the the historic red barn and special programs, demonstrations and crafts at the nature center from noon until 3:30 pm.
Crafts will include candle dipping, creating wooden toys and jewelry and corn-husk-dolls. Craft supplies are limited and will cost $1 to $3 per craft. Beginning at 9 am craft tickets can be purchased at the nature center.
A campfire cooking demonstration is scheduled for noon. The cooking demonstration will be followed by butter making at 1:30 pm. A blacksmith demonstration will commence at 1 and run until 3 p.m.
No advanced registration is required and the activities are open to everyone. Admission to the park costs $7 for Indiana vehicles and $9 for vehicles from out-of-state. For more information contact interpretive naturalist Tim Cordell at (574)-656-8186.
