Plymouth is among the safest cities in Indiana, according to a new report. It’s number 8 on the list of safest midsize cities and towns in the state as ranked by ValuePenguin. Midsize cities have populations of between 10 and 20,000. The independent analysis looked at the most recent FBI statistics on violent and property crimes.
The report also ranked cities with populations of between 5 and 10,000 and big cities with more than 20,000 residents. An overall ranking of all communities adjusted for population size was also performed. Plymouth placed 27th out of the 84 communities on that list.
In a statement, Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter said, “This recognition is a tribute to the people of Plymouth and to the men and women of the Plymouth police and fire departments, whose hard work and community engagement help to keep us safe each day.” “Plymouth truly is a safe and positive place to live and work,” the Mayor also stated.
