The Marshall County Commissioners will be further considering economic development efforts this morning.
Jerry Chavez with the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation will make a report on their efforts. Chavez has been making the rounds at various boards and councils to discuss what the organization is working to accomplish.
Following the presentation, however, the Commissioners will consider making an appointment to the Regional Development Authority. That committee has been formed with the hope of receiving millions of dollars in grant funds. An appointee from Marshall County would serve along with representatives of St. Joseph and Elkhart counties.
Should the RDA receive grant funds, they would be used to complete projects with the aim of attracting and retaining population.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Marshall County meeting.
