John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
If you happen to fit the bill of this iconic presidential quote then you shouldn’t hesitate to join the ranks at Leadership Marshall County. LMC is a program dedicated to cultivating today’s leaders to serve tomorrow’s community by building a solid foundation of action-oriented, well-informed citizens and employees.
Involved individuals gain valuable exposure to programs and service initiatives, as well as community leaders. Participation in group projects encourages further investigation into long-term strategies, planning objectives and community goals. The program is designed to expand networks in both private and public sectors. It encourages improved communication among leaders.
Starting in September, sessions are generally held monthly covering topics such as Marshall County government, agriculture, education, economic development, arts, tourism, health and human services and criminal justice. The program runs for 9 months and to date, more than 300 local leaders have participated.
The program is sponsored by the United Way of Marshal County and the Marshall County Community Foundation. To access more information contact the Marshall County Community Foundation office at (574)-935-5159 or visit the MCCF website to receive an application for the LMC program.
