During their Tuesday evening meeting, the Bremen School Board officially announced that Sheila Kelty has been chosen to replace outgoing board member Jack Jordan. The swearing-in is scheduled to take place during their next regular board meeting on July 21.
Four individuals submitted letters of interest to the school corporation. The candidates other than Kelty included Jon Bohannon, David Bailey and Charlie Houin. It was Kelty’s previous experience and chemistry with the school board as well as her budgeting background that set her apart from the others, according to the Pilot News. PN reported that in July 2013 Kelty was appointed to the board to replace Frankie Merritt however during the 2014 board election she lost her board spot when she was defeated by Maria Mikel.
Sheila Kelty graduated from Bremen High School in 1985. She has undergraduate and MBA degrees from Ball State University and a doctorate in health administration from Central Michigan University. Currently she works as the director of office transformations at IU Health Goshen.
