Ancilla College officials have scheduled a blessing ceremony for the first residence hall to be constructed on the campus of the private, two-year school. Director of Marketing and Social Media Amanda Petrucelli says a public open house will also take place on Aug. 18 from 4 until 6 p.m. After the blessing, several dignitaries will speak. Tours of the new, three-story facility will be offered, and refreshments will be served.
Petrucelli encourages Marshall and Starke County residents to come be part of history.
“We really want everyone to have a chance to walk through and see this piece of your town before we have students moving in,” she said.
Petrucelli notes the addition of a residence hall opens the private, two-year school up to students from around the world.
“We have international students. We’ve got students from Alaska, Colorado, and of course our surrounding five-state area, so it’s going to have a huge impact. That’s 100 students that weren’t here last year that will be going to your businesses and eating in your restaurants and visiting all of the arts that are available in Marshall County.”
