Water Treatment Plant Financing Finalized

Work on Plymouth’s Ledyard Water Treatment Plant can begin after action last night by the city’s board of works. Bids for the project awarded at their last meeting were contingent on financing, which has been successfully completed.

The board of works was also to get a recommendation from the city’s sign committee for gateway signage. That’s been pushed back two more weeks due to a delay with the committee’s review of designs and discussions with the designers. City attorney Sean Surrisi is also working out an agreement with the county to place a sign in the roundabout. He advised it should be ready for consideration at the next meeting.

Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon received permission from the board to begin the hiring process to replace Ted Brown, who is retiring today after nearly 21 years with the department to take a job with the school corporation as a resource officer.
