The drivers of two tractor-trailers involved in fiery Saturday morning crash on U.S. 30 at Queen Road suffered minor injuries, according to officials with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. They responded around 7:30 a.m. to the wreck in the westbound lanes of U.S. 30 at Queen Road.
The driver of a 2008 Freightliner told investigators he was westbound on U.S. 30 and was unable to avoid a collision with another westbound truck he believed was stopped or stalled in the roadway. The driver of that 2012 Mack truck said he had just taken off from the stop light and was still trying to get up to highway speed. The freightliner caught fire and burned completely. Emergency personnel shut down the highway for a couple of hours to clean up the wreckage. Plymouth Fire and Plymouth EMS both assisted. Both drivers were treated at the crash site for minor pain.
