This year marks a celebration of a full century of Plymouth women coming together to enrich the community in areas of education, culture and charity. Tri Kappa has continuously provided community service over the years at little or no public expense.
The organization is responsible for yearly contributions to over 25 local and 8 state charities and organizations as well as providing 6 annual scholarships at Plymouth High School and 1 to Ancilla College. They have also provided holiday baskets to families in need, decades of teaching covered wagon loading and pioneer history and life to generations of 4th graders and financial assistance to school nurses for funds to directly assist students.
It is for this reason that the Mayor Mark Senter has declared the week of June 8 through June 14 to be Tri Kappa Week in the city of Plymouth. All citizens are urged to be aware of the importance of Tri Kappa’s mission of providing charity within the community. Senter prompts the people of Plymouth to observe this occasion with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
