Plymouth Students Raise Hundreds for Charitable Cause

The final tally is in and students at Riverside Intermediate School in Plymouth have raised hundreds for a charitable cause.

Fifth graders and teachers constructed a doghouse as part of an after-school mentoring program in an effort to raise money for the Marshall County Humane Society.

An auction started this month allowing members of the public to bid on the structure – even gaining attention from the Mayor’s office. Bidding started at just $5, but worked its way up to $350.

The auction was extended for an extra week to allow more time for interested community members to submit bids. The school was unable to get the $350 figure to budge in the extra week.

The funds will now be given to the Humane Society to benefit local programs supporting animals in need.
