Students achieving academic success at Plymouth High School will be recognized this weekend.
U.S. News and World Report recently recognized the high school for the college readiness of students.
Now, the students who made that happen will take part in an induction ceremony for the National Honor Society on Sunday. The organization honors student scholarship and achievement throughout their academic careers.
This year, 35 students will be inducted into the National Honor Society.
Not only will students be honored, but one teacher will also be recognized. The National Honor Society will award their Plymouth High School “Teacher of Excellence.” Last year, social studies teacher Dave Hatcher was given the award.
A bit later in the afternoon on Sunday, Plymouth High School’s 12 academic departments will recognize 12 students. The Academic Hall of Fame has been ongoing for the past 29 years. According to a press release, the students must have taken classes in the respective department for at least eight trimesters and achieved an “A” average.
