The Plymouth Board of Works awarded the bid for mill and fill work to the contractor with the lowest bid for the project. Bristol-based Niblock will do the work for slightly more than $488,000. It includes work at the south entrance to Centennial Park and on the two short streets to the cemetery.
The board of works also received a lone bid of $24,722.30 for bathrooms at Freedom Park from CMC in Plymouth. The park board will take the bid under advisement, as the project is being paid for with funds raised by a committee and donated through the Marshall County Community Foundation. Public works projects which cost less than $25,000 do not have to go through the formal bid process.
The three requests for proposals received for gateway signage will be forwarded to the city’s sign committee for confidential review. Recommendations are expected at a June board of works meeting.
