Indiana Hosts Second Free Fishing Day

The state of Indiana will be allowing those without a fishing license the opportunity to cast into public waterways.

Normally, anglers would need a license or a trout/salmon stamp in order to fish in Indiana. The state’s Free Fishing Day, however, will take place on Saturday. Indiana residents do not need a fishing license or a trout/salmon stamp to fish for the day.

There are four Free Fishing Day’s in 2015, the first of which was in April.

Though there is some distance between them, several communities are hosting family events in Indianapolis, Lafayette, and Terre Haute on Saturday. Children will have the opportunity to learn fishing basics and a bit about fish biology.

The next free fishing days are June 6th and 7th.
