Plymouth Schools Look to Educate Students on Cybercrime

The Plymouth School Corporation is hoping to educate its students on the potential dangers of cybercrime.

Eric Tamashasky is considered an expert on the subject. He’s an attorney and legal advisor for the St. Joseph County Police Department.

Tamashasky will speak to both junior high and high school students about the subject. Cybercrime can include identify theft, sexting, and harassment.

The Plymouth School Corporation managed a sexting incident in January of this year. Officials say bringing in a cybercrimes speaker has little to do with the incident, and more to do with educating students.

The speaker has been trained through the United States Secret Service.

Tamashasky will speak at Lincoln Junior High School at 1:00. He will then travel to Plymouth High School to speak at 2:00 on similar subjects.
