Residents in Culver are being asked to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.
According to officials with the Town of Culver, the bills are largely focused to $20 bills and higher. The counterfeit currency is said to look fairly realistic, but is missing a key watermark in addition to the reflective ink typically associated with real bills.
The Culver Police Department was unable to answer key questions about the ongoing presence of the bills, including where they were located, and how many have been found.
Culver Police Chief Wayne Bean says the fake $20 bills have not been seen for a period.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
