Plymouth Man In Custody for Attempted Murder

A Plymouth man is in custody after police allege he stabbed another man multiple times, Sunday evening.

Officers were called to the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Plymouth for a fight.

Once at the apartment around 7 p.m., officers began investigating the situation. According to information released by the Plymouth Police Department, 32-year-old Robert James had allegedly stabbed 43-year-old Robert D. Oberchain Jr. several times with a knife. The incident stems from a verbal argument that investigators say escalated.

The Oberchain was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

James was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center to have his condition reviewed by medical professionals.

He will be booked at the Marshall County Jail once released from the hospital. James is facing charges of Attempted Murder, Disorderly Conduct, and Battery with a Knife.
