A popular children’s author’s birthday was this month, and the Culver-Union Township Public Library is celebrating it for him.
The Library is hosting a “Seuss-a-Bration” to help honor the work of Dr. Seuss. The author’s birthday is celebrated March 2nd around the country.
As part of the event, area youth will be able to join library staff for stories, games, and crafts in the Library’s Children’s Room. Youth Services Manager Jill Gavlick says those in attendance will be able to take their craft projects home.
“Dr. Seuss is a great writer for children and really sparks the imagination with kids and it’s kind of a fun thing to do in March,” says Gavlick
The event takes place this Saturday.
According to Gavlick, this is the first time in the last few years the Culver-Union Township Public Library will be hosting an event for a children’s author.
Area youth are invited to the Library from 10 to 11 a.m. to partake in the activities.
The Library also kicked-off the National Education Association’s Read Across American Week. That program is celebrating its 17th year.
