Plymouth Board of Public Works Approves Police Vehicle Purchases

The Plymouth Police Department will soon add two new 2016 pursuit-rated, all-wheel drive SUVs to its fleet. The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved Police Chief David Bacon’s request to purchase those vehicles from Oliver Ford when they met Monday evening.

They cost $28,813 each, but that cost will be offset by trade-in allowances on a van and two cars. The net cost for both vehicles will be $45,826. Oliver Ford was the only dealership to submit a quote. Bacon notes the vehicles take several weeks to produce and equip after they are ordered. The board agreed to approve the purchase so that process could begin immediately.

Vehicle and chassis quotes for several other city departments were opened and taken under advisement.
