An early morning traffic stop Wednesday at the intersection of Michigan and 4A Roads in Marshall County ended with a trip to jail for a South Bend woman.
An officer with the Marshall County Police Department stopped a car driven by Jennifer N. Scott for an equipment violation around 1:45 a.m. The officer discovered Scott’s license was suspended, according to a news release. She was cited, and her vehicle was impounded. During that process a small baggie of white powder was found near the driver’s seat. It field-tested positive for cocaine, according to police, who say a further search found Scott was in possession of another controlled substance. She was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of a controlled substance.
