Hitting the road this holiday weekend will not put as big a pinch on your pocketbook. Gas prices are at their lowest level in five years, according to AAA Hoosier Motor Club. That’s good news for the 43.1 million travelers planning to drive more than 50 miles from home. That’s the highest projected travel volume since 2007.
Air travel over the Thanksgiving holiday period is also expected to be at the highest level since 2007, according to AAA. An estimated 3.55 million Americans will be taking to the skies. The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined as today through Sunday, Nov. 30. Airlines for America says Sunday, Nov. 30 will be the busiest day for airline travel during the holiday period. Today is the second busiest, according to that airline industry group, and Monday, Dec. 1 is the third-busiest.
