The Goshen woman whose pickup truck crashed into a horse-drawn buggy last Friday in Bremen has been charged in connection with that crash. The Indiana State Police have arrested Laurie Bope, 44, on a charge of operating under the influence of a controlled substance. She rear-ended the buggy on U.S. 6 near Dogwood Road around 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14. Indiana State Police investigators say Bope fell asleep at the wheel. She was not injured, but the driver of the buggy and two children all sustained head injuries. They’ve since been released from area hospitals.
